SL 500 R129 (1989-1995)

R129 is an iconic code name among Mercedes enthusiasts. It represents the fourth generation of the SL-Class, one of the company’s most famous cars. It was originally released in 1989 with the mission of replacing the R107, whose characteristics made it a strong contender in the roadster segment for eighteen years. If it was ever possible to represent the 1990s in a car, one of our best attempts would surely be the R129 SL-Class.

The latest release of Mercedes model cars line, proudly brought to you by Mercteil, is a silver edition of the 500 SL which was originally produced from 1989 to 1995. It comes in 1:18 scales and is assembled by hand out of 90 detailed parts. You can open its hood, doors and trunk lid and much more: the car comes with reproductions of both its fabric roof and its rigid roof which can be manually assembled as well.

The best way to describe this model car’s precision and detailing is by inviting you to experience them yourself. From the central console with wooden trim to the classic wheels with eight semicircular spokes, this 500 SL is a delightful trip back to the last years when Mercedes Benz named its models with numbers before letters.
